Faculty Professional Fulfillment & Wellbeing

NYU Grossman School of Medicine provides wellbeing resources to help faculty succeed in achieving personal and professional satisfaction. We are proud to offer NYU Langone faculty access to the following programs to support their wellbeing:

  • an Ombuds Program to facilitate fair and equitable resolutions to work- and training-related questions, concerns, and complaints
  • a Peer Support Program, a network of clinicians who are trained to provide emotional support during times of crisis, particularly after adverse medical events or critical incidents
  • the option to participate in Resilience Rounds, a space for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty to engage in authentic reflection on the emotional and mental challenges of practicing medicine

As employees of NYU Langone Health, faculty have access to numerous wellness programs, benefits, and discounts (Kerberos ID and password required).  Other resources include a variety of programs, services, and activities designed to help faculty reach their career goals.

Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Resources

NYU Grossman School of Medicine sets specific criteria for faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure as well as expectations for teaching and faculty contributions to our community of scholars.

Mentoring and Faculty Development

NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Office of Mentoring and Faculty Development provides junior and midcareer faculty with mentoring resources to help them understand the steps necessary to attain career milestones. Resources include a variety of mentoring guides, encounter sheets to plan and record mentoring sessions, letter templates, surveys, and more. Faculty Advance: A Faculty Development Program

NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Faculty Advance program helps academic junior and midcareer faculty members navigate professional development in the setting of academic medicine. We help faculty achieve their career aspirations with educational events, skill-building workshops, and book clubs.

Educator Community

NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Educator Community supports career advancement for medical educators through skill development programs and peer mentoring. Access Educator Community programs and resources and stay up to date with news, events, and education awards and honors.

Epic Elevate Training

NYU Langone offers all faculty one-on-one training sessions on how to use Epic Systems’ electronic medical record with a physician informatics expert. During these 45-minute sessions, faculty can personalize their Epic dashboard to optimize smart phrases, build order panels, personalize order sets, and more. Access webinars, tip sheets, and videos, or enroll in an upcoming Epic Elevate session (Kerberos ID and password required).

Committee for Physician Health

The Medical Society of the State of New York’s Committee for Physician Health supports physicians with substance use disorders and other psychiatric disorders. This voluntary, confidential program is staffed by physician volunteers. Physicians who are seeking help or their colleagues, friends, or family members may initiate a referral by calling 1-800-338-1833.
