Section of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

Members of the Section of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology, within NYU Langone’s Division of Pediatric Hematology–Oncology, provide individualized, family-centered care to children with brain and spinal cord tumors at the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone. A team of pediatric neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neuropsychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers provide care in one of New York City’s oldest pediatric tumor centers.

The section’s nationally recognized fellowship program trains fellows in the clinical management of primary central nervous system tumors in children and young adults, as well as in clinical and laboratory research.

Section researchers discover new approaches to diagnosing and treating pediatric brain tumors, lead clinical trials, and collaborate with other medical centers to conduct basic, translational, and clinical research.
