Pediatric Hematology–Oncology Education

The Division of Pediatric Hematology–Oncology at NYU Langone offers educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows. Training occurs at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital—34th Street, Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull.

Trainees may apply for the division’s three-year, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education–accredited Pediatric Hematology–Oncology Fellowship in clinical care and basic, translational, or clinical research. Additionally, the division offers a one-year clinical fellowship in pediatric neuro-oncology with opportunities to conduct research in nationally recognized laboratories.

Medical students and residents can participate in a four-week pediatric hematology–oncology elective that provides broad clinical experience and opportunities to participate in research. Medical students must complete the core pediatrics clerkship before applying.
