Movement Disorders Clinical Research

In the Kellar Family Division of Movement Disorders, our clinical research goals are to collaborate with basic scientists and investigators in other disciplines to discover and develop novel biomarkers and therapies for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

NYU Langone’s Fresco Institute for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders is committed to leading innovative patient-centered studies that include patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders including Huntington’s disease, dystonia, tremor, atypical parkinsonism, and others.

Our high-impact focus areas include the following:

  • developing therapies to delay or prevent disease progression
  • identifying genetic mutations in patients and possible gene therapies for their disease
  • improving patient quality of life through new approaches to mitigate and manage symptoms
  • understanding the mechanisms underlying currently untreatable symptoms
