Health Disparities Summer Fellowship

The Health Disparities Summer Research Fellowship teaches medical students about inequities in health and healthcare and helps them develop skills that promote health equity.

Despite the significant diagnostic and therapeutic advances seen in the past 20 years, disparities in health outcomes related to race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, income, and education persist. The fellowship prepares physicians-in-training to identify and address such inequities in practicing 21st-century medicine.

The program includes a didactic component, a mentored research project, and opportunities for community engagement. The Office of Diversity Affairs offers six weeks of financial support to two qualified NYU Grossman School of Medicine students who are between their first and second years of undergraduate study.
