Pediatric Nephrology Electives for Residents & Medical Students

NYU Langone’s Division of Pediatric Nephrology offers a four-week elective for residents and medical students. Students must complete the core pediatrics clerkship before enrolling.

Trainees learn about the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of pediatric renal diseases. Topics and conditions covered include nephrology, hypertension, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation, urinary tract anomalies, urinary tract infections, and electrolyte disorders.

Students take part in daily teaching rounds and a weekly case review conference in ambulatory clinics and participate in patient care at the Fink Children’s Ambulatory Care Center, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and NYU Langone Astoria Medical Associates.
