Lung Transplant Research

Researchers in NYU Langone’s Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine perform lung transplant research, under the guidance of Luis F. Angel, MD, principal investigator.

Dr. Angel has a long-standing interest in clinical and translational studies of lung transplant and related issues. He currently focuses on organ donation, the development of a personalized medicine approach to the prediction of chronic lung allograft dysfunction, the role and use of vena cava filters in the prevention of pulmonary embolism, and remote monitoring and telemedicine follow-up of lung transplant recipients.
