Murray J. Berenson Distinguished Scholar Program

The Murray J. Berenson, MD, Distinguished Scholar in Physician-Patient Communication was established in 2011 by the family and friends of Dr. Berenson to recognize his lifelong commitment to compassionate patient care. Dr. Murray Berenson is a 1961 graduate of NYU Medical School and practiced medicine for over 40 years at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Annually, this program will provide the NYU Langone Medical Center community an opportunity to engage with a leading expert in the field of patient communication and create meaningful dialogue amongst faculty and physicians-in-training, with the goal of enhancing physician communication skills and improving patient outcomes through skilled clinical examination.
