Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency

In the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency in NYU Langone’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, we strive to create an environment where residents from diverse backgrounds gain skills and experiences that enable them to pursue successful, fulfilling careers.

The mission of our Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education–accredited residency is to provide a structured educational environment for the development of superbly trained physicians in general obstetrics and gynecology. Our residency program is led by Olivia P. Myrick, MD.

We also provide outstanding post-residency professional opportunities for residents who are interested in pursuing obstetrics and gynecology fellowships or positions as attending physicians, in private practice or at academic institutions.

To accomplish this, we create a nurturing community that empowers residents to take an active role in their own education and to make their own wellness and satisfaction a priority.

Residents see patients at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. Over the course of our training program, residents become independent physicians capable of providing attentive, personalized, evidence-based care for women.

Our residents are compassionate advocates for their patients and accountable for the care they provide. Their dedication improves the lives of individual women and society as a whole.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to recruiting and fostering a diverse community dedicated to promoting excellence in obstetrics and gynecology through education, research, and clinical care.

We celebrate the multiple dimensions of diversity that each member of our community offers, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic circumstance, national origin, geographic background, immigration status, ability and disability, religious belief, and age.

We prioritize diversity and inclusion in resident and faculty recruitment and retention. We strive to ensure that our department reflects the diversity of our patient population. We are proud to practice medicine in a dynamic city that welcomes a diverse community of individuals. We are committed to respecting all members of our community and ensuring that each person feels valued and supported.
