Resident Alumni

A critical evaluation of any residency program has to take into account the career pattern of former residents in the years following their training. Over 90% of our resident alumni have gone on to faculty positions at academic departments of neurosurgery. It’s our belief that the type of high-quality and intense clinical training provided in our program inspires residents to become academically inquisitive in order to improve their patients' outcomes. By contrast, trainees in more “academic” programs, in which extensive research is emphasized over clinical training, can learn to dissociate clinical work from research, and often go into private practice instead of academics as a result.

Following is a list of former NYU Langone neurosurgical trainees who are currently in academic appointments, along with the years in which they completed their residency and the positions they now hold.
