How to Enroll in Medical Research
The Office of Clinical Trials
The office of clinical trials maintains a database of current research being conducted at all of the NYU Medical Centers. To find a Clinical Trial at NYUMC, visit the Office of Clinical Trials website.
The New York University School of Medicine CTSI has joined with other academic medical centers across the country to make the national ResearchMatch volunteer research registry at ResearchMatch.org available to the general public and NYU researchers. ResearchMatch is a national volunteer research registry that brings together researchers and willing volunteers who wish to get involved in research studies.
This national registry developed by institutions affiliated with the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA), provides a secure, web-based approach to address a key barrier to advancing research: participant recruitment. ResearchMatch has now been launched and NYUSoM is partaking in the national campaign to encourage individuals to join this volunteer registry if they would like to do so.
ResearchMatch is a new national initiative. Before researchers can effectively use the registry, a large number of volunteers will need to be a part of ResearchMatch. As such, researchers will not be given access to begin looking for potential study volunteers through ResearchMatch until approximately January 2010. Please remember that ResearchMatch cannot guarantee that volunteers will be contacted by researchers, even after researchers can look for 'matches' through this online tool, although it is certainly our hope that these contacts will occur.
A separate communication will be distributed to NYUSoM researchers after recruitment tools have been released in January 2010.
Researchers who are interested in using RM as a recruitment tool should complete the Researcher Interest Form to be notified about options for utilizing this resource.
