Pediatric Hospital Medicine Best Practices

Research in NYU Langone’s Division of General Pediatrics focuses on evidence-based medicine to develop and enhance best practices in pediatric hospital medicine with the aim of raising the level of care for children in hospitals. Gabrielle Gold-Von Simson, MD, conducts clinical research in the area of pediatric hospitalist medicine and pediatric clinical trials. She is also actively involved in curriculum development for several NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s training programs, including the Certificate in Health Innovations and Therapeutics program.

Rebecca Rosenberg, MD, MPH, researches ways to improve the quality and safety of hospitalization for children and families. She is specifically interested in multidisciplinary collaborations in preventing healthcare-acquired conditions such as Staphylococcus aureus; improving comfort, especially postoperatively; implementing evidence-based guidelines to improve safe discharge; and assessing the impact of involving patients and families in research.

Alexander F. Glick, MD, MS, investigates ways to improve communication with patients and families in the inpatient setting. He is specifically interested in the development and evaluation of low-literacy strategies to improve parent comprehension of and subsequent adherence to their child’s inpatient discharge instructions. His work also focuses on improving parent engagement during family-centered rounds.
