Comprehensive Program on Obesity
Obesity is a complex, multifaceted, and tenacious disease. These characteristics make it difficult to determine the origins of and identify effective treatments for obesity from clinical, societal, and scientific perspectives.
Experts in NYU Langone’s Comprehensive Program on Obesity aim to overcome these challenges by working across three domains: multidisciplinary research, clinical care, and education.
We strive to fundamentally improve the understanding, treatment, and management of obesity. We aim to accomplish this by taking a unique interdisciplinary approach to uniting population health, clinical research, and basic science research using data science and big data analytic techniques. Such comprehensive expertise and integrated data can guide us to enhance the treatment and prevention of obesity.
This approach positions our team to make significant breakthroughs in helping improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
