I am interested in the behavioral consequences of chronic pain. Chronic pain is associated with co-morbidities such as addiction, anhedonia, and depression. Using a rodent model of chronic neuropathic pain, we are looking at the development of these behavioral changes as well as changes in synaptic activities in specific brain regions that regulate these behavioral changes. The overall goal is to identify particular molecular changes in the brain that regulate these behavioral pathologies and to modify these changes in order to treat the pathologies.
