How to Reduce Acid Reflux

1. Watch what you eat

  • Avoid fatty foods
  • Avoid spicy foods
  • Eat fewer acidic foods, such as citrus and tomato-based food
  • Limit alcohol, caffeine, and carbonated beverages
  • Limit chocolate, peppermint, and dairy products

2. Watch when you eat

  • Don’t lie down until 3-4 hours after meals
  • No snacking after dinner and no night eating

3. Lose weight if you are overweight

4. Avoid large meals

5. Exercise, but not around bedtime or after meals

6. Avoid tight fitting clothes

7. Stop smoking
