The New York Center for Magnetoencephalographic
(MEG) Research (NYCMR) is the research division of New York MEG,
an institution dedicated to the clinical evaluation, diagnosis and
care of patients with neurological disorders, such as epilepsy,
brain tumors and stroke.
The center houses a whole-head 248 channel Magnes 3600 whole head
MEG system (4-D Neuroimaging) in a magnetically shielded room. The
primary mission of NY MEG is the clinical evaluation of patient's
to improve the overall health and well-being of patient's with neurological
disorders. In order to continue to advance treatment options for
patient's with neurological, cognitive and psychiatric disorders,
NY MEG is working to develop new paradigms for evaluating patients,
understanding normal cognitive functions and determining processes
through which dysfunction arises. The MEG system is currently utilized
by groups within the New York
University Comprehensive Epilepsy Center; it is also open for
use by external researchers, and new research projects and collaborations
are welcome.
