Orientation for the Class of 2013 is over. Below is a sample schedule of events for incoming students.
Pre-Orientation Events
*Orientation officially begins on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
Saturday:
Brooklyn Bridge Walk and South Street Sea Port
Meet in Rubin Hall Lobby at 5:30pm
Come experience one of the world’s oldest suspension bridges and take in spectacular views of Manhattan and Brooklyn! We will take the subway to the DUMBO area, then walk over to Manhattan’s South Street Sea Port. The Sea Port and Pier 17 offer over a dozen dining options, shopping, live music and street performances and a historic ambiance that make this renovated port one of Manhattan’s most visited spots.
Sunday:
Welcome BBQ
Alumni Plaza
Time: 6:00pm
Cost: FREE
You’ve spent the weekend moving into your lovely new home and are eager to meet your new classmates, so come to the Welcome BBQ, the first official event of orientation! There will be delicious food and refreshments (vegetarian and kosher options included) and a chance to relax in what will hopefully be gorgeous summer weather. You can’t miss it—literally, because it will be right outside your building!
Monday:
Outdoor Adventure Course
*Rain or shine
Meet in Tisch Main Lobby at 8:30a.m. Buses depart at 9:00 a.m.
Cost: $20
Come experience an outdoor adventure thrill while getting to know your classmates. This event will provide team building exercises as well as the opportunity to conquer your fears. Second year students will be on hand to guide you through this awesome adventure course. An outdoor BBQ will be held at the end of the event for you and your new classmates. This is an event not to be missed.

Tuesday:
Evening on Broadway- In the Heights
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Cost: $35
Students are given a chance to see what Broadway is all about.

Wednesday:
Annual Scavenger Hunt
Time: 7:30pm
Cost: FREE
The Scavenger Hunt will launch you and your teammates on a whirlwind insider tour of your new neighborhood’s restaurants, shops, and landmarks. Creative awards and memorable prizes will be given to the winners at a secret location determined during your travels. Don’t miss this popular tradition! Although the Scavenger Hunt is free and appetizers will be provided afterward, please have some pocket money for the off-campus social event that follows the hunt.
Thursday:
Manhattan Harbor Cruise
Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Cost: $40 for Class of 2013 student; $50 for Class of 2013 guest (limit one guest per student)
Enjoy the beautiful New York City skyline on one of the most popular orientation events. Dance and mingle with fellow classmates as you sail past sights including the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. Dinner and beverages will be available. Further details will be provided during Orientation Week.
Friday:
White Coat Ceremony
Time: 1 :00pm-3:00pm Farkas Auditorium

Parent Welcome Breakfast (9:15am-10:00am) will be in the Faculty Dining Room
Parent Welcome (10:00am-11:00am) will be in Schwartz F.
