Although it's taken for granted that at the end of medical school you will
be a physician, there is still a lot that needs to be decided between the beginning
of first year and graduation. Although a few students know exactly what specialty
they will choose and where they would like to practice, most students' interests
are not clearly defined initially.
The School of Medicine believes strongly in its responsibility to provide
the resources and guidance that will get you on the path you most desire. The
school has developed a four year approach within the curriculum and through
extracurricular programs beginning at Orientation and culminating at Graduation.
Through workshops, seminars, lectures, mentoring and advising, and career and
personal assessment opportunities, students gain a strong sense of direction
and focus about their medical careers.
OSA is the process of developing a comprehensive career development model.
If you have individual questions about your career development, please call
Joe Oppedisano, Director of Student Affairs, at (212) 263-3804 to make an appointment.
