Introduction
In May 2002, Elias A. Zerhouni, M.D. created
the NIH
Roadmap as a set of guidelines and directions for future medical
research. The reason which this initiative was called for was that
there were major research areas which crossed the boundaries of
the various NIH Institutes and Centers.
The NIH
Roadmap can provide investigators with a unique insight into
NIH Priorities for their research portfolio in the near future as
well as a source of Roadmap-specific funding opportunities.
