The Scholars and Intramural Programs are highly
competitive and prestigious award programs that support new investigators
with outstanding promise in basic and clinical sciences, or distinguished
investigators in mid-career. Application to these programs is by
invitation only and/or a limited number of candidates can apply.
The Biomedical Research Support Committee (BRSC) selects School
of Medicine candidates for these programs.

NYU School of Medicine has been invited to
submit two candidates for the Irma T. Hirschl/Monique Weill-Caulier
Trust. This program supports outstanding investigators at or above
the assistant professor level, and on NYU School of Medicine faculty
for at least two years. The Trust is currently providing awards
of $25,000 per year for five years. Applications are due at the
Trust by November 17, 2003, with funding to begin January 2004.
The School of Medicine can nominate two candidates
for this program. Internal nominating materials are due October
8 and are as follows:
- Letter of nomination from the Department Chair/Division Head
- The candidate's CV (limited to 2 pages)
- Current and pending support
- A summary of the candidate's research interests, limited to
1 page.
