As you may know, the Deans Office has been
diligently working for some time toward developing official
policies for basic science postdoctoral fellows at NYU School
of Medicine. I am pleased to announce that the attached document has been
approved by the Dean and was recently presented at the Chairpersons Meeting on
Thursday, January 20th.
Effective immediately, the policies contained within the Postdoctoral Handbook
will apply to all postdoctoral fellows conducting basic science research at NYUSoM;
the laboratories that will be affected by these policies are not limited to Sackler
Institute-designated facilities.
All Chairpersons will also receive a copy of the Postdoctoral Handbook prior
to the document being furnished to the faculty and postdoctoral communities at
large. I
expect that the document will be made public on the Postdoctoral Program website
(http://www.med.nyu.edu/sackler/postdoc) within one week's time.
