Program Description
The Program in Neuroscience Systems is recruiting
faculty interested in a broad range of topics related to the central
nervous system function. The approach is to include single cell
in-vitro electrophysiology to electrophysiology and behavior in
primates. Particular emphasis will be given to imaging technology
(atomic force microscopy, total reflection microscopy, multiphoton,
voltage dependent and ion sensitive dye imaging microscopy and intrinsic
activity imaging). Areas of research interest include, but are not
limited to sensory and motor function learning, memory, pain, and
aging of the CNS. Two of the recruits will be in the area of auditory
and vestibular neuroscience. The NYU School of Medicine has an established
and outstanding multidisciplinary research program in the basic
and clinical neurosciences with doctoral and postdoctoral training
programs. We are particularly interested in recruiting faculty whose
research will complement and extend strong research programs in
Neuroscience Systems in conjunction with, Developmental Genetics
and Molecular Neuroscience.
In addition to these programs at the School of Medicine,
NYU maintains the Center for Neural Sciences (CNS) at the Washington
Square Campus.
Recruitment for the program will be led by Prof. Rodolfo
R. Llinas and Prof. Anil
K. Lalwani.
