Program
Description
The Infectious Disease Program
concentrates on microbial pathogenesis and microbial immunity, on
the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels, and is open to M.D.
and M.D./Ph.D scientists. It is located on the floor adjacent to
that of the Microbial Pathogenesis Program, to facilitate scientific
interactions among the faculty and staff of both programs. Both
programs provide access to well-equipped BSL3 and ABSL3 facilities.
While physician-scientists working on risk group 3 pathogens are
encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in developing
areas of research that will complement and extend existing research
programs in Medical
and Molecular Parasitology, Microbial
Pathogenesis, Molecular
Oncology and Immunology, and
Cell Biology, as well as the emerging program in Genetics,
Genomics, and Proteomics. Recruitment for the program is led
by Dr. Joel
Ernst.
