The Recruitment Advisory Committee's deliberations
were based on several guiding principles. We wanted to ensure that
the programs housed in the new research center would be interdisciplinary;
that they would strengthen departmental connections to research
programs; that there would be a coordinated recruitment strategy;
that the programs would focus on translational research and increase
program and center grants; and that the programs would collaborate
with research programs at Washington Square.
