We are the Security Department for the New York University Medical Center. Our department is responsible for security throughout The NYU Medical Center's main campus, in New York City, as well as for several off-campus locations. Thank you for stopping by. Please take a moment to browse our site.
The Security Department is dedicated to providing the safest possible working and living environment for all members of the Medical Center Community - faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors - in an unobtrusive and professional manner and consistent with the security needs of the Medical Center.
The Security Department is aided in its tasks by a computerized CCTV/Alarm System operated from a command center in Alumni Hall. All entrances and exits, as well as the perimeter of the Medical Center, are covered by closed circuit television equipment. In addition, a special alarm system signals the command center when unauthorized activities are taking place.
A computerized card-access system has been installed to facilitate entry into specific areas of the Medical Center. This system is integrated with our existing identification badge to enhance the security of designated areas.
