The NYU South Asian Health Initiative (SAHI) engages in diverse community-based research and education activities to bridge South Asians in the United States with the health care system, and to reduce the health care disparities faced by community members.

STOP PAAN: reducing the risk of oral cancer in South Asian immigrants
Heart Disease Awareness and Treatment: education, health screening, and access to medical specialists
Community Tuberculosis Prevention Project: over 1,400 South Asian immigrants served through outreach, education, screening and intensive case management
Health Access Project: connecting underinsured and uninsured populations to medical care in the United States
Community Health Needs Assessment: research to detail the South Asian immigrant community's perceptions of health and health access
