Hello and welcome to the Sackler Student Council (SSC) website.
This website provides a place for Sackler students to come for news
about academic and social events at the NYU Medical Center. It is
also a forum to share ideas and opinions about research, classes,
and every other part of graduate student life. We are just beginning
to add content to the site, so please pardon the limited information.
We welcome comments and suggestions for things to add to or change
about the site.
The SSC is open to any graduate students who want to be more involved
in student life at the Medical Center. We plan fun events such as
the annual ski trip, happy hours, and movie nights as well as volunteer
activities like a clothing drive. Student council is also an opportunity
for Sackler students to interact with the rest of the NYU community.
Members sit on committees with medical students and graduate students
from the downtown campus to plan events such as formal dances, poster
sessions, and the NYU Olympics. As SSC presidents, we attend graduate
advisor and administrative meetings where we represent graduate
students and report information back to them.
If you are a prospective Sackler student visiting the site, please
look around and get an idea of what the life of a Sackler student
is like. Anyone should feel free to contact us with any questions
you might have.
