The Future Science Educators is exactly what it sounds like, a group that provides support to scientists as they develop skills and resources that are essential to educators. We believe that teaching is fundamental to the success of future science-based careers. FSE was founded by post-docs and graduate students at the Sackler Institute at New York University. The group is comprised of individuals with a science background who also have a strong commitment and personal interest in teaching as the focus or a strong aspect of their career. Through workshops and seminars, we seek to educate ourselves about the requirements of being an educator and developing the skill sets required to teach and mentor. We are also continuously building networking resources to put job seekers in touch with those institutions looking for faculty candidates and to provide our members teaching and mentoring opportunities where they can gain teaching experience. FSE is open to graduate students, post-docs and professionals with graduate degrees, and has a membership that includes individuals from many of the colleges and universities in the New York metropolitan area. We invite you to check out our web site for lots more information about us and our upcoming events.
