Pediatric Therapeutic RecreationLocated on the 5th floor of Rusk Institute at NYU Medical Center, the Pediatric Therapeutic Recreation unit is composed of professionals certified in the field of therapeutic recreation. In cooperation with the pediatric rehabilitation team, the Therapeutic Recreation staff creates a supportive environment where children and adolescents can experience peer support, learning, and creative expression.
Therapeutic recreation and creative arts professionals work with the rehabilitation team on the unit to provide a safe environment for children to ask questions, express their emotions and prepare to reintegrate into their communities. Various programs are provided to meet the emotional and developmental needs of the children.
