Schools are contacted for each patient to assess premorbid functioning and to attain testing records if available. Schools are also consulted with to aid in appropriateness of placement. Referrals are made to the committee on Special Education when appropriate and education is given to families on advocacy and their rights. The Psychologist will attend CSE meeting when needed and call for impartial hearings if private school needs to be pursued. The psychologist also speaks to, and has gone to schools when needed to educate personnel and students on the needs of our patients.
