Inpatient services are offered to those individuals whose arthritis pain leaves them with difficulty in performance of daily living activities. The rehabilitation team utilizes hydrotherapy for therapeutic exercise, as well as splinting, energy conservation and joint protection methods to both minimize pain and maximize independence.
Patient education is provided on exercising, vocational
possibilities, and the development of effective coping skills. In addition,
outpatient therapy and follow-up visits are available to provide continuity
of care and to tailor plans for patients with inflammatory arthritis in remission.
