Referral Process
A physician's referral is required for an appointment. Your primary care physician can refer you to the Rusk Institute Outpatient Occupational Therapy Department for a Barrier-Free Design evaluation by calling 212-263-6012. Referrals for outpatients are accepted from all physicians licensed in New York State.
Patients who do not have a referral may also receive one
directly from a Rusk Institute physiatrist (physician specialist
in rehabilitation medicine). To make an appointment with
a Rusk Institute physiatrist, call 212-263-6037. The physiatrist
will provide referral to a clinical specialist within The
Barrier-Free Design Service.
