The Aphasia Collection at the Patient & Family Resource Center

Thanks to a generous donation by Dr. Martha Taylor Sarno, Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Rusk Institute, and the National Aphasia Association, the NYU Patient & Family Resource Center (PFRC) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Aphasia Collection, a collection of educational materials about aphasia and stroke.

Written in plain, non-clinical language, these materials—books, pamphlets, factsheets and videos—are available for use by NYU Medical Center patients, their family members, and caregivers. Staff will find them useful for patient education. The PFRC also has 3 computers with Internet access available for viewing and printing additional material available on the web.

For more information, call the Patient & Family Resource Center, NYU Medical Center's consumer health library, at (212) 263-7438, or stop by during hours of operation:
Mondays and Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visitors for whom these hours are inconvenient are invited to call (212) 263-7438 or send an email to pfrc@library.med.nyu.edu and request that information be mailed, faxed, or sent via email. During hours of operation, information can also be delivered, to a nurses' station or patient room.
