The Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit Raises Over $6,000 for the American Heart Association

On Tuesday, May 22, 2007, the Joan and Joel Smilow Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention Center of the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine participated in the American Heart Association’s annual Wall Street Heart Walk/Run. The Team was able to raise over $6,000 to date, from over 20 participants. This was the unit’s largest donation in the 5-year history of participation and placed them first in donations this year within the NYU Medical Center.

The team, led by co-captains Amber Spitzer, Senior PT and Greg Sweeney, Program Manager, were quite successful in generating enthusiasm and commitment from the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team. Special recognition must go to Jackie Liu, Senior OT and Ana Mola, Program Director, who raised $1,820 and $1,010 respectively.

A special thank you must be given to our patients, who as part of the team raised over $1,000.
