Research Summary
The New York Department
of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is one of the largest referral centers for
cardiac surgery and angioplasty in the VA system. Steven P. Sedlis, M.D. is
actively involved in VA cooperative studies and industry sponsored clinical
trials. Currently Dr. Sedlis is evaluating angioplasty versus surgery in high
risk patients, a trial of aspirin versus coumadin as secondary prevention of
post-myocardial infarction, and a study of racial differences in the
performance of cardiac procedures.
Dr. Sedlis is also interested in clinical studies related to an interest in myocardial phospholipids.
