Neuroscience
Neuroscience at New York University is a collaborative enterprise distributed across the School of Medicine, including the faculty at the Nathan Kline Institute, and the downtown Center for Neural Science. It encompasses a wide range of neuroscience disciplines including: developmental genetics, molecular, systems, behavioral and clinical neuroscience. Equally diverse are both the species studied, ranging from fruit fly to humans, as well as the methods employed, which include both forward and reverse genetics, biochemistry, molecular and structural biology, electrophysiology, imaging and behavior paradigms.
Bringing together this broad group of subjects, species and approaches is an interactive and close knit community connected through a well-integrated graduate program and seminar series that attract leaders from all fields of neuroscience. Together, NYU supports one of the world's premiere neuroscience communities, focused on the common goal of furthering our understanding of nervous systems and their emergent cognitive functions.
