Environmental Science Research

NYU School of Medicine’s Department of Environmental Medicine is one of the nation’s oldest and foremost centers for research into the health effects of environmental pollution, with one of the largest inhalation facilities in the country, a whole-body radiation counter and many other state-of-the-art instruments. Studies range from broad topics - such as the physical and chemical components of exposure atmospheres - to specific events, including a World Trade Center day laborers screening program funded by a grant from the September 11th Fund. microscope
