The NYU Prostate tissue bank was established in 2000 as part of the NCI-supported Cooperative Prostate Cancer Tissue Resource (CPCTR). In conjunction, with the three other sites (Univ of Illinois at Chicago, Univ of Pittsburgh and George Washington University), the CPCTR has developed into a nationally recognized tissue resource for prostate cancer investigators (www.prostatetissues.org).
