Research Summary
Dr. Malaspina's research has been supported by grants from NIMH, NARSAD, Stanley Foundation, and other organizations. She was recently awarded a "Distinguished Investigator" award from NARSAD. Her first NIMH grant, in 1990, was the "Schizophrenia Academic Award", awarded to nurture her potential to mature into a research, academic, and administrative leader in the field. She currently serves as Principal Investigator of two NIMH R01 grants ("Jerusalem Perinatal Cohort Schizophrenia Study" and for "Olfaction and Social Function in Schizophrenia") as well as on numerous training grants for young investigators. The Jerusalem study has just won a new 5 year competitive continuation from NIMH, to be awarded to NYUSOM in June, 2007.
