Research Summary
Keith Krasinski, M.D. was one of the principal architects of the NICHD-NIAID collaborative study on intravenous immunoglobulins in HIV-1 infected children. His major research activities relate to various aspects of perinatal transmission of HIV-1 and the management and prevention of HIV-1 infections and complications in children and adolescents. He has actively investigated the interactions of anticonvulsants and chloramphenicol, the pathophysiology of bacterial meningitis, the impact and control of respiratory syncytial virus infections, and the prevention of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia.

In addition to Dr. Krasinski's expertise in pediatric infectious diseases, he retains a certificate of qualification for diagnostic virology and HIV-1 testing in New York State.
