The Radiation Oncology Training Program at New York University Medical Center
is fully accredited by the ACGME for 4 years of study. The philosophical intent
of the program is to train resident physicians in all fields of oncology. Although
concentration will naturally be in radiation oncology, the relative place of
surgery, chemotherapy and other treatment modalities is given emphasis to broaden
the education and competence of trainees.
Located next to each other, the NYU Cancer Center, NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital attract different
patient populations and thus provide the radiation oncology resident with a
broader experience in the spectrum of malignant disease than is generally available
at a single institution. All residents receive appointments to both hospitals
and spend time at each institution.
