Neuroradiology Rotation

Expectations of Residents in the Neuroradiology Imaging Rotation

Residents learn to perform and interpret all neuroimaging modalities -- including MRI, CT, angiography, digital angiography, and myelography.

Informal discussions and formal conferences with faculty and house staff in neurology, neurosurgery, neuropathology, otolaryngology, and neuro-ophthalmology take place on a continuous basis.

To enable patients with severe neurological disorders to receive the best possible treatment, NYU has established the country's first Cerebrovascular Unit, a multidisciplinary group in which specialists, including neuroradiologists, meet to establish optimal therapies. In addition to the large number and varied cases seen at Tisch Hospital, many more cases are seen at Bellevue Hospital as it is the citywide municipal hospital traumatic brain imaging center and The Manhattan Veterans' Administration Hospital, as it is the Northeast VA regional center for neurosurgery.
