Rotation Evaluation

The residents are asked and expected to evaluate each rotation in terms of the quality of teaching and the success of delivering the rotation education objectives outlined in the department curriculum. These comments are collected anonymously on an intranet application. In addition, the Vice Chair of Education formally meets with each resident to discuss their individual experiences rotation-by-rotation. The Vice-Chair of Education and the Program Director then review both sets of comments with the departmental Education Committee to formulate corrective actions.

This formal process is only a supplement to the informal ongoing dialogue maintained at all times. The Chairman and the Program Director alternate months meeting with the residents as a group. The chief residents also serve an important role as a conduit for residents to voice their concerns.
