The Resident

Residents usually enter the combined program at the PGY-1 year and spend their first year primarily on the medicine services at Bellevue, Tisch and the VA Hospitals. Under certain circumstances, residents may be accepted into the program at the PGY-2 level after completing a preliminary year in another ACGME accredited training program. Training in psychiatry and neurology incorporates progressive responsibility for patient care, supervision and teaching of medical students and junior residents.
