Nutrition & Brain Fitness Lab
Who We Are:
The Nutrition and Brain Fitness Laboratory here at the NYU Langone School of Medicine recognizes the fundamental importance of Nutrition and Lifestyle choices individuals make and how they affect the way the brain ages. Our studies focus on the way the brain processes nutrients and how this may affect cognitive processes. Our protocols combine state-of-the-art brain imaging, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) measures of brain structure, functional and biochemistry, with thorough nutritional questionnaires and blood tests, physical activity assessments, and cognitive evaluations. Our main goal is to identify lifestyle factors that support healthy brain aging and are thus protective against dementia and cognitive impairments.
