  • There are seven families of 5-HT receptors (5-HT1, 5-HT2, 5-HT3, 5-HT4, 5-HT5, 5-HT6, 5-HT7), and at least 15 subpopulations have been cloned. Glennon, 1995:415 (1)
  • This slide lists drugs that interact with 5-HT receptors.
    • Pindolol and buspirone bind to 5-HT1A.
    • Sumatriptan binds to 5-HT1D.
    • Cyproheptadine, risperidone, and nefazodone bind to 5-HT2A.
    • Ondansetron, granisetron, and cisapride bind to 5-HT3.
