The Training Analyst Appointment Committee is composed
of the Chair of the Committee, selected by the Director; the Chair of the Education Committee; three past directors,
and three (non-past-director) Training Analysts chosen by the director
for a three-year term. The committee processes applications for
Training Analyst appointment. It reviews the applicant's personal
and professional qualities, including his or her psychoanalytic
clinical immersion and contributions to the Institute. The committee
then assigns training analysts to review in depth the current clinical
work of the applicant, and consults with these reviewers before
voting on the suitability of the applicant for Training Analyst
appointment. If the committee determines that the applicant should be appointed a TA, it forwards its recommendation to the Education Committee for final approval.
