Committee
Chairs and Members
Academic
Affairs
Chair, Arden Rothstein, Ph.D.
The Chair of Academic Affairs (a position created in 2005) oversees
and coordinates interrelated aspects of the work of institute committees
and programs central to the academic life of candidates. These include
the Curriculum Committee, Curriculum Review and Revision Committee,
Faculty Search Committee, Education Committee, Executive Committee
[she is also a member of the aforementioned committees], Student
Progression Committee, and the Consultation and Treatment Service.
Initiation and coordination of the Case Development Supervision
program - in concert with the Chair of the Education Committee --
is another responsibility of the Chair of Academic Affairs. So too
is close consultation with candidates involved in special projects
(e.g., the candidate journal, annual candidate-conceived PANY scientific
programs, candidate reporters for scientific activities). More broadly,
she focuses on the intellectual needs of the institute-at-large,
scouting inside and outside for opportunities to expand our scholarly
goals and pursuits.
