The Psychoanalytic Institute is a diverse collegial affiliation of clinicians working in psychiatry, clinical psychology and clinical social work, united in our dedication to patient care.  Since our founding in 1949 we have promoted healing, growth and the attainment of full individual potential through careful exploration of the human mind in all of its depth and complexity. We train psychoanalysts and psychotherapists, and our mission includes teaching, research, interdisciplinary study, outreach, and the provision of affordable services. We are affiliated with NYU School of Medicine, and we are a member institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
