This course is an introduction to the early psychic development: how the baby gets a sense of a self through the quality of the interactions with the environment.
It is a preverbal stage of development that requires a specific observation. The capacity for observation and empathy will be discussed as a tool for the psychoanalyst observing the patient and containing early anxieties
